Gone for awhile.

Not that I post much here lately, but my online presence will be cut down over the next month due to various reasons. Hope everyone who might read this has a good holiday, AND if we survive December 21.....more power to you....if not.....then we'll wither be burned to a crisp when the sun burns us, or under the ocean somewhere when the big tidal wave sinks us....depending on which one you think will happen! Cheers.

New screenplays

Just completed the second draft to my new screenplay. Another one that blasted out of my mind pretty damn quickly. The original title was A SCREENPLAY AS WRITTEN BY EMILY KANTER got changed, on suggestion by a friend.

So now it's just simply called DEVELOPMENT HELL. What's Development Hell mean???

In the jargon of the media industry, "development hell" (or "development limbo") is a period during which a film or other project is trapped in development. A film, television program, screenplay, computer program,^[1] concept, or idea stranded in development hell takes an especially long time to start production, or never does.

So there....it fits the story well I think.

Now I'm moving on to my one setting, one character script. (OK so there are three minor characters, but for the most part one). I've got ten pages so far, but it's turning out to be a lot tougher than I thought it would.

This is the latest in my many and failed attempts at doing something Lovecraftian. I think this has a better shot than most of the other ones EVER did.

New post.....update on the past month.

It's been a while since I posted anything here. Going to try to more often so I can let my rage out more here!! LOL 

Last post I had a sketch for a idea from someone concerning my screenplay WITH CHILD.....here is the completed project. It went on to be on my business card for Shriekfest 2012.

As for the festival it's self. I went. Had a good time. Met some cool people. Saw some really good indie horror movies. In the long run, my screenplay ended up winning an award...not a big one, but the BITCH PACK AWARD....in other words it passed the Bechdel Test. What's that?

1. It has to have at least two [named] women in it

2. Who talk to each other

3. About something besides a man

So apparently it met that standard. Hmm. Is this an award...not sure. I think it is. LOL.  Here's some pics of me with the festival director, getting my award, and the after award show pics.....

So that's about it. The trip was not a total waste. Still have not been able to sell anything, much less generate ANY interest in the screenplay......frustrating.

New screenplay is a re-working of an older one. Almost done with a first draft. Stuck with coming up for an ending..again. It's like a bastard child of RINGU, NAKED LUNCH, GRAVE ENCOUNTERS, EVIL DEAD (the original), THE PLAYER, POLTERGEIST, and of course some tentacles for a dash of HPL......some inspiration, huh?

Another WITH CHILD flyer....new ideas....

Another possible flyer for my screenplay WITH CHILD to take with me out to the festival? I think it may be. A supervisor of mine at work read my script, loved it so much, she gave it to her son. He in turn drew this based upon the look and feel of the script.

Anyway, I had a falling through with another idea today. The writing process was going very sluggish. Three pages across two days....that's bad for me. Then after reading through my outline I realized I had a MAJOR plot hole in the entire thing.....and I can not come up with an explanation for it. Putting yet another aside...I think that makes three in the last month that have not worked out.

I still have a few more ideas kicking around. I'm at the point where I need something for next year's festivals. So going for a cheap shot. When all is lost, go for the cheap scares and blood n' guts. Basically what my new idea is. Tackling the hot topic of piracy and anti-piracy on the 'net.

I'm sure in a day or two, this as well will go in a box of junk ideas and I'll move on to the next one. I'll probably be posting about that in a few days.
